Jhal Magsi: Polling for NA-267 by-election to be held on Thursday

As many as sixteen candidates belonging from different political parties are participating in polls.

JHAL MAGSI (Dunya News) – Polling for by-election in National Assembly’s constituency NA-267 Jhal Magsi district would be held on Thursday, reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, 165 polling stations have been established by Election Commission (EC) which have also been declared sensitive.

More than 35,000 police and Levies officers will be deployed whereas steps to prevent any untoward situation and installation of CCTV cameras have also been ensured.

As many as sixteen candidates belonging from different political parties are participating in the poll while a strong contest would be held between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khalid Magsi.

About 1,64,049 people would use their voting rights among which 87,473 are male and 58,576 are female voters.

The seat fell vacant after Supreme Court disqualified Khalid Magsi’s membership and ordered re-election in the area.
