Chaudhry Nisar assured to unveil the truth behind Panama Papers soon.

NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar said that opposition’s statements and senior judges’ excuses delayed Panama leaks probe.

Army and government are on one bench over Panama leaks and accountability issue as Chaudhry Nisar assured to unveil the truth behind Panama Papers soon.

He said that not only Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s family was listed in the leaks but the names of other prominent world  leaders were also mentioned there.

Chaudhry Nisar said that opposition’s statement and senior judges’ excuses forced delay in the formation of inquiry commission.

Responding to a question, federal minister stated police and Rangers are holding successful operation in Karachi and army has no hand in it.

Earlier, Nisar had lambasted leader of the opposition in National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah and leader of the opposition in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan during a press conference in the federal capital.

While pointing out wrongdoings of the former government, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Nisar asked why the opposition’s leadership denied ownership of Surrey Palace for the longest time but accepted it before London court.

He called for accountability of all the parliamentarians irrespective of sides, government or the opposition.

Sharif has been under pressure since the so-called Panama Papers leak linked his family to a series of offshore companies. The records showed that PM‘s daughter Maryam and sons Hasan and Hussain owned London real estate through offshore companies administered by Mossack Fonseca.

After the Panama leaks scandal erupted, Nawaz Sharif insisted in a televised address to the nation that all of his family businesses were legal. But cricket-star-turned-politician Imran Khan has demanded an unbiased probe into the wealth the Sharif family had amassed.
