Pathankot attack: India unwilling to offer support in investigation

Dunya News

Congress, AAP members protested outside airbase when Pakistani team arrived for investigation

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – Pakistani team that went to India in order to investigate the Pathankot airbase attack has headed back to New Delhi after conducting its investigation, reported Dunya News.

According to sources, the Indian authorities have been reluctant in offering support to the Pakistani investigation team as the delegation is expected to return back to the country empty handed.

Indian media stated that the Pakistani investigation side was taken to the airbase in bullet proof cars and that a separate door was made for the entrance of the team in the airbase. The team was granted access to a limited portion of the airbase that was attacked by terrorists in January 2016.

The team inspected the route used by the terrorists and the area from where Superintendent Police (SP) Silwinder Singh was kidnapped.

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Ameet Shah stated that the Pakistani team is doing investigation regarding the attack with utmost diligence.

At the same time, Indian media also claimed that an Indian investigation team will soon be dispatched to Pakistan about the Pathankot airbase attack.

Earlier, members of Aam Admi Party (AAP) and Congress protested outside the airbase when the Pakistani investigation team arrived there.

An attack on the Pathankot airbase in January claimed the lives of 7 Indian security officials.
