Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claims Lahore attack, releases picture of bomber
Dunya News has obtained the picture of alleged suicide bomber of Gulshan-e-Iqbal blast.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Banned organization Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the Taliban, which once declared loyalty to the "Islamic State" movement (IS) has claimed the responsibility for the suicide attack in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park on Sunday in which 72 persons, mostly children and women, were killed and more than 300 were injured.
Dunya News has obtained the picture of alleged suicide bomber Salahudin which was released by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar on Monday night.
A spokesman of the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar further said that the video message of the suicide bomber, which was recorded prior to the blast, will also be released soon.
"We carried out the Lahore attack," Ehansullah Ehsan, spokesman for the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, told media by telephone on Monday from an undisclosed location.
He said the group would carry out more such attacks, vowing to target schools and colleges alongside government and military interests.
