Case to be investigated under anti-terror act, Hammad Siddiqui, 8 others to be nominated criminals

KARACHI (Dunya news) – The report of the Joint Investigation Tribunal (JIT) on the Baldia town factory fire incident, released on Monday, suggests that the anti-terror act be included in the ongoing investigation of the case, reported Dunya news.

The report mentioned that an extortion of rupees 20 crore was demanded by the perpetrators but the element of extortion was neglected in the First Information Report (FIR) of the event and that the accused individuals in this case, which include Rehman Bhola, Hammad Siddiqui, Zubair alias charya and 8 others, should be tried according to the act of terrorism and that they be named as criminals in the FIR.

The JIT has also proposed to nullify the passports of the fugitives and to include their names in the Exit Control List (ECL).
