Video released by rangers confirms presence of miscreants in PIA employees' rally
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – The investigation committee formed by the Director General (DG) Sindh Rangers has started its work on Thursday to probe into the firing incident during the Pakistan International Airline s (PIA) employees protesting rally outside Jinnah International Airport, reported Dunya News.
According to the Rangers’ spokesperson, evidence has been found of the presence of miscreants at the protesting rally. The spokesperson said that a masked man can be clearly seen in the video. He said this masked person can be seen in the video wearing a cap and moving with the rally.
Sindh Rangers have appealed to the public to help identify this masked person. Rangers assured that the identity of the informers will be kept secret.
On the other hand, Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Sohail Baloch has said that the person in the video is a PIA employee and he had shielded his face to save himself from the shelling of tear gas.
Two people had died on Tuesday in a firing incident when unknown gunmen opened fire on the protesting rally of PIA employees outside Jinnah International Airport Karachi.
Rangers and Sindh police both denied the accusation and stated that personnel did not open fire. The gunshots came from the protesters, the spokespersons for law enforcement agencies stated.
Rangers Director General (DG) has formed a high-level committee to probe the firing incident. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) denounced the government’s alleged torture on the protesters.
