Charsadda students stop Fazlur Rehman's convoy in protest

CHARSADDA (Dunya News) – The students of Bacha Khan University on Thursday staged a protest against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman as he tried to leave the campus, Dunya News reported.

According to details, Fazlur Rehman was leaving the campus after visit when the enraged students stopped his convoy outside. The demonstrators tried to remove the media teams that were outside for coverage.

The protesters chanted loud slogans against the provincial and federal governments.

As many as nine wounded individuals are receiving treatment at Lady Reading and Charsadda hospitals after the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University where various political leaders visited on Thursday to show solidarity, Dunya News reported.

According to details, various political leaders including Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq and former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf visited the hospitals and inquired about the health of those wounded.

The wounded persons’ spirits appear to be unmoved. One of those receiving treatment, guard Zakir Ali has said he was the first to respond and resist when the terrorists struck.
