Any statement about Pathankot attack now will be premature: Kh Asif
Defence Minister says the terrorists undermining Pakistan's security can't be Pakistan's friends
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has on Friday said that any statement about Pathankot attack before complete investigations would be premature. He said that the terrorists undermining Pakistan’s security cannot be our friends, reported Dunya News.
Talking to Dunya News on ‘Aaj Kamran Khan Kay Saath’, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan is in contact with other Islamic countries on the Saudi-Iran issue. He said that whoever is trying to push Pakistan into a war can’t be Pakistan’s friend. He said that no person is above the state. “Strong action was taken against the enemies of peace in Operation Zarb-e-Azb”, he said.
Responding to a question, the defence minister said that an opinion can be given on Pathankot attack only after completion of the investigations.
Talking about Iran-Saudi relations, Asif said that a collision between two Islamic countries isn’t affordable. He said that Pakistan is trying to do whatever it can to stop the situation from deteriorating further. He said that the government is in contact with other Muslim countries.
Responding to a question about the absence of Prime Minister from the session, Khawaja Asif told that he is on a leave and couldn’t attend the session due to his private engagements in Lahore.
