Court grants three-day time for gang rape victim to record statement

14-year-old student was abducted and gang raped in a guest house in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Mall Road gang-rape victim on Thursday has excused herself from recording statement while court has extended physical remands of eight arrested persons for three days.

Police presented class-8 victimised student and key culprit Adnan Sanaullah among eight persons before the court to get their statements recorded.

Rana Town’s resident plaintiff’s counsel told the magistrate that his client is severely traumatized and could not record her statement. He asked the court to grant time for three days.

Investigation officer requested the court to extend alleged culprits’ remands by three days.

The court entertained investigation officer’s plea and granted extension while ordered to file DNA test reports of the accused in the next hearing.

Earlier in the week, a resident of Rana Town, 14-year-old student was abducted and gang raped in a guest house. Mother of the victim had told the media that her daughter had gone to a tailoress and did not return.

Government had taken notice of the matter and ordered immediate arrest of the culprits.

A case was launched at the Race Course Police Station.
