CTD recovered arms and explosives from terrorists belonging to Daska and Sialkot

DASKA (Dunya News) – Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested six terrorists on Tuesday from general bus stand of Daska, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, CTD carried out an operation in Daska general bus stand and arrested six terrorists belonging to the terrorist outfit ISIS. The arrested terrorists, named Irfan Babar, Jawad Aslam, Saeed Ahmed, Abu Hanifa, Amir Suhail and Ijaz Ahmed, belong to Daska and Sialkot. CTD sources said that the suspects were planning a terrorist attack in Daska while they had set up a training camp as well in a nearby village Gallotiyan. CTD recovered fire arms and explosives in big quantity from the terrorists including ball bearings, detonators and other explosive material. Police have shifted the suspects to unknown place for further investigation after producing them in Anti-terrorism court Gujranwala.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday arrested two Punjab University (PU) professors and a student over their alleged links with a banned organization, Dunya News reported.

The two teachers have been identified as Professor Amir Saeed and Professor Umar Nawaz.

One of them was arrested from hostel number 1 while another professor was rounded up in the Institute of Administrative Sciences. A student of law college identified as Waqas was also detained in the raid.

They have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

The raid was conducted few days after CTD team detained Assistant Professor Ghalib Ata of the Punjab University Institute of Administrative Sciences in Allama Iqbal Town.

Following the raid, a group of students raised slogans against the government and management and demanded immediate release of the arrested professors.
