KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal on Monday announced his party will resist privatisation of public institutions, Dunya News reported.

Addressing party workers in Malir on the occasion of party’s Foundation Day, he asked how long will the PPP opponents continue to build ‘political robots’ and announced to embark on countrywide visits to ‘strengthen party’.

Bilawal said he wants to make it clear to the ‘political orphans’ and ‘courtiers’ that no one can sway his party supporters from its ideals. He said the battle will continue until the last terrorist is taken out “because our party is against terrorism”.

The PPP chairman said they won’t let privatisation of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Pakistan Steel proceed. He said there will be strong resistance over carving out of the public institutions.

Emphasising the need of young leadership, Bilawal announced to run a country-wide contact campaign and took pledges of support from the workers. He led chanting of slogans “Karachi belongs to whom?” amid loud responses in party’s favour from the crowd.

At the conclusion of his address, he responded to the supporters’ chants by waving his hands. The party workers and supporters kept dancing to the tunes of the party anthems.

Sherry Rehman on Sunday said while hitting back at opponents that her party won’t let people “become fuel for sportsmen and Patwaris”.

The PPP held a rally from Bilawal House till Muach Goth on occasion of party’s Foundation Day in which a large number of people participated.

Rehman said her party’s sacrifices for democracy are not hidden from anyone, adding that they won’t let people become fuel for players and Patwaris.

The rally that started at Bilawal House turned into a Jalsa at Muach Goth area where the leaders addressed the participants.

The participants were very enthusiastic as they went on with the rally. Some were riding on bikes while the others used various other vehicles. There was a flood of party flags the participants were carrying.

The PPP rally was led by Senior leader Sherry Rehman who said while talking to the media that her party won’t let the general public be dispensed by the sportsmen and Patwaris. Senator Saeed Ghani, Faisal Karim Kundi and other leaders also participated in the rally.
