KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday claimed Rangers’ raid in its offices in Korangi 2.5 Number and Sultanabad resulted in arrests of over 100 workers in span of past 4 days, Dunya News reported.

MQM has summoned an emergency session of party workers. According to details, MQM’s claims could not be substantiated individually.

Reportedly, Rangers raided MQM’s Korangi 2.5 Number office earlier and had taken at least 10 workers into custody from the Sector Office. Those arrested have been transferred to an undisclosed location.

The sources said that a raid was made also at the Sultanabad office of the party where 6 suspected persons were taken into custody. The MQM has said that Sector Incharge Wasim Shama, Asghar Yaqub and other key workers have been taken into custody.

MQM termed it a conspiracy to stop the party from running the election campaign. The sources said that MQM leader Farooq Sattar contacted the Rangers officials and expressed reservations on the arrests.
