Shaheen Air crash landing: 'Drunk' pilot Asmat Mahmood arrested from Karachi
The suspect will be shifted to Lahore tomorrow.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Drunken pilot of Shaheen airlines Asmat Mehmood was arrested by Lahore police in Karachi today (Sunday).
According to details, the suspect will be shifted to Lahore tomorrow.
After registering a case against the pilot in Sarwar road police station, officials arrested him from his residence in Karachi.
Sources report that the suspect has been booked under the provisions of attempt to murder, alcoholism and carelessness.
Police sealed the FIR after registering the case.
On the other hand, Asmat Mehmood’s family state that ten people entered their house early morning and took him with them.
Earlier, drunken pilot was found to be the reason of a crash landing of Shaheen Airlines aircraft, revealed a medical report. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced ‘medical raids’ at airports countrywide.
According to the report presented in the aftermath of haphazard landing on November 9 of a Shaheen Airlines airplane, it was revealed that pilot was responsible for the dangerous landing. However in the medical report it has was revealed that the pilot was drunk and had 83% alcohol. It was also revealed that the pilot had lack of sleep the previous night.
CAA stated that it will conduct medical checkups on cabin crew in addition to pilot crew. Aviation’s airport doctors will also be able to conduct medical checkups, stated CAA.
