KARACHI (Dunya News) – Firing incident on late Friday claimed a life in Manghopir while at least two criminals were apprehended in injured condition in Soldier Bazaar during encounter with police.

According to the details, in precincts of Manghopir police station, a firing incident claimed a life however, the killed person could not be identified.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

On other hand, two motorcyclists were looting a local when police personnel caught the sight of crime. As the police approached the site, culprits opened fire. Both the felons were arrested after police reciprocated the fire.

The criminals were caught in injured condition. The personnel seized stolen motorcycle, mobile phones and weapons from their possession.

Earlier on November 5, police had arrested a couple from Taimooria area for snatching mobile phones and cash from citizens. The suspects were identified as Sohail and Lubna.

The criminal husband and wife used to snatch valuables from citizens on gun point, using a fake gun. The couple refused to confess anything initially and kept claiming that they were being robbed but Sohail, who was wanted in many other cases, confessed to his and his wife’s crimes during the investigation afterwards.

The couple is not the first of criminal families that are knee deep in crimes in Karachi. Sohail said that police are responsible for making him a criminal, as he was an employee at Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) but he lost his job because of fake cases against him filed by police.

On November 4, Crime Branch personnel arrested seven suspects including a target killer and a police officer. Police raided various areas across the city and arrested three suspects. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akram Abru, suspects Rehan, Arif and Danish were responsible for grenade attacks on police and were involved in other serious crimes including murder and extortion.

A case was registered against the suspects in Itehad Town police station.
