Women voted in Upper Dir after 40 years, female polling staff was deployed at women polling booths

UPPER DIR: (Dunya News) – The change has finally come. Women used their right to vote in PK-93 Upper Dir by-election after 40 years. Female polling staff was deployed at the women polling stations in order to make the women feel easy while voting, reported Dunya News.

Vote founds the basis of democracy but the women were completely barred from voting in Upper Dir but this ban was made history today when the women flocked to polling stations to cast their votes.

When allowed to vote after 4 decades, a large number of women arrived at the polling stations to cast their votes and their enthusiasm was worth watching. The female staff also helped them understand the system.

Male voters also supported the right of the women to walk side-by-side with men in every field of life. Tough security measures were also observed at women’s polling stations to counter any mis-adventurism.
