PTI election tribunal orders to expel Jahangir Tareen, Nadir Leghari
The tribunal also ordered to cancel the basic memberships of Pervez Khattak and Abdul Aleem Khan
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) election tribunal, headed by Justice Wajeehuddin has on Monday ordered expulsion of Secretary General PTI Jahangir Tareen and Nadir Leghari from the party. The tribunal has also ordered to cancel the basic membership of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) Pervez Khattak and party’s Lahore President Abdul Aleem Khan, reported Dunya News.
Tribunal has also issued show cause notices to AArif Alvi, Saifullah Niazi and Qasim Khan Suri and ordered them to appear before the tribunal on June 29.
Tribunal has not only ordered expulsion of Jahangir Tareen and Nadir Leghari from the party but has also forbidden the party to take them back in. It also ruled that Pervez Khattak and Aleem Khan should never be given a party position.
PTI’s 2-member election tribunal had been set up under Justice Wajeehuddin Ahmed’s headship to examine the irregularities that took place during intraparty elections. The tribunal has given its ruling today. It is pertinent to mention here that the Chairman of the party Imran Khan has already ordered dissolution of the tribunal.
