He demanded from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to arrest those involved in the massacre, bringing innocent people to justice. Talking about martyrs, he said that it is because of their sacrifices that MQM’s ideology is spreading rapidly across the country.

He remembered that terrorists opened fire on innocent people including children, women and the elderly for six consecutive hours. Besides, Altaf condemned the relentless violence including rape and sexual assault against several women and young girls in Qasba Aligarh. He argued that the government hasn’t taken any action against the tragic incident till date.

The December 14 Qasba–Aligarh massacre in the year 1986 was an ethnic clash between armed Pashtuns and the Muhajir/Bihari settlements in Qasba Colony of Orangi Town in Karachi .

According to reports, hundreds of innocent people were killed and several hundred were injured. The attack by armed Pashtuns is perceived as a revenge killing as a result of an unsuccessful raid on an Afghan heroine processing and distribution centre in Sohrab Goth by the security forces.
