Mobile phone service suspended in all major cities
Government has announced to block mobile phone service as precautionary measures.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Interior Ministry has announced to block mobile server in all major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta Multan, from 6am to 10pm on 9th and 10th Muharram due to security reasons.
According to sources, the decision has been taken after some corners of the society had requested the interior ministry to halt mobile service in order to avoid any untoward incident.
The cities where mobile phone would remain suspended for next two days include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Attock, Multan, Gujranwala, Rahimyar Khan, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang, Nankana, Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Nosheroferoz, Nowshehra, Charsadda, Harripur, Mansehra, Kohat, Mardan, Tank, Hango,DI Khan, Quetta, Kallat, Kohlu and Gilgit Baltistan.
The Interior Ministry has also declared 54 districts as sensitive where Army, Ranger and FC will be deployed on 9th and 10th Muharram.
On the other hand, pillion riding has also been banned for three days in different cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, DI Khan, Hango, Hyderabad and DI Khan.
