Altaf appeals to Taliban to stop bomb blasts

MQM chief Altaf Hussan has asked Taliban to accept government�s offer for negotiations.
LONDON (Agencies) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussan made a compassionate appealto Pakistani Taliban to stop attacking army, citizens and renounce other violent activities including bomb blasts to achieve peace and accept government’s offer for negotiations.
Delivering a lecture at party’s London secretariat, Altaf Hussain said that some people were in favour of the dialogue with the Taliban while others were opposing the idea. But the MQM chief affirmed “the interest of Pakistan and Pakistanis lies in a peace agreement”.
He said the impact of talks is not just limited to the government or Taliban, it has spilled out of Pakistan and its neighboring countries, spreading far and across.
Altaf Hussain said that MQM was a democratic and peace-loving party and there was no place for criminal elements in its folds, he asserted his party had always supported operations against criminals since it was their principled stance that criminal elements present in every party be prosecuted in accordance with the laws.
