Mornings are laced with a refreshing feeling that comes with a calm breeze whistling throughout your day like an invisible glimmer. And it’s not just optics. Mornings, in fact, have proven to have the key to not just a productive day but also to a healthy and happy life.

So while there may be many things one could list, here are just a few of the morning habits associated with some of the most successful people on the planet that will help you make your daily routines more productive and healthier.

Waking up early

‘Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise’.

This proverb has always rested a message in it for all generations. Having an adequate sleep of 8 hours and getting up early brings additional energy and productivity to your day. Mornings have more inspiration and problem solving tends to be much easier with a well-rested mind.

It is said that an early riser catches the opportunity. And you may believe it or not, one of the most successful beings, Apple CEO Tim Cook starts his mornings as early as 3:45 a.m., according to USA Today.

Exercising

Exercise whether it is in the form of an early morning jog, yoga or tai chi, is an essential part of daily life that many of us neglect. Morning exercise helps you boost up your metabolism, strengthens physical and mental health, energies your body and makes you feel more competent socially and academically.

It’s one of the secrets of successful people, as many others. Billionaire tech investor Mark Cuban exercises for an hour six days a week, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Not using cell phones early in the morning

Using cell-phones in the morning can be a time suck, can distract you and can take over your morning routine. Therefore most of the successful people avoid looking at screens till breakfast.

According to Inc., David Karp founder of Tumblr (an easy-to-use blogging platform) tries hard not to check e-mails until he reaches office, which is usually between 9:30 and 10 am.

Having a healthy breakfast

Having a healthy – high fibre and high protein breakfast is vital. It’s the first meal of the day and works to keep you energetic as the fuel works to keep the vehicle going all day long. And neglecting this significant meal can down your day.

The former first lady Michelle Obama was recorded in EatingWell Magazine as fueling her day by having a full nutritious breakfast including scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and grapefruit.

Picking up the hardest task first

Brian Tracy says, ‘Eat that frog first’ describing that each morning if you sort out the hardest task first, you ll be satisfied for whole day knowing that it was probably the nastiest thing and you are finally done with it.

Fresh and relaxed mind can function more effectively in solving hard tasks as compared to a night owl’s mind. That’s the reason most of the successful people tackle the toughest chore first.
