(Web Desk) – Special Envoy to the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie has condemned sexual violence against victimised Rohingya women amidst the crisis.

Jolie met with a delegation of Bangladesh foreign ministry in Canadian Vancouver and according to a notification issued by the department, the ambassador condemned violence against Rohingya.

She said that lacs of Ronhingya were forced to cross the border and leave Myanmar owing to brutality of the armed forces and sexual violence against women. Statement of Jolie came in after Human Rights Watch accused Myanmar forces to have raped women during operations.

A special envoy to the UN had also maintained earlier that Myanmar forces exercise sexual violence.

However, a statement issued by Myanmar armed forces rejected the allegations and denied that the troops raped Rohingya women.
