LAHORE (Daily Dunya) - Pakistani stunning actress Mahira Khan has apologized over her smoking pictures with Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor during a chill break in New York City.

According to Indiatoday, Mahira said, "Im a very strong woman but when all of this happened, I was completely shattered and broken. I would think about posting a statement every day. Then I would stop myself because I just wouldnt know what to say," the actor said.

"To be honest, I understand where all the criticism came from and it didnt come from a place of hate. Im not talking about the trolls but those who were genuinely disappointed to see those pictures. Its the same disappointment that my nani or my mamoo would have felt seeing that. So even now when I meet an older lady who says that she didnt like the pictures, Im quick to apologise," Mahira added.

She apologised and said that she is only "human" and "make(s) mistakes".

Earlier, Ranbir broke his silence and said, "It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman."

Mahira also responded and said, “It was a personal thing. I have learnt from it. Because I am a very careful person otherwise. I dont want to do it for the world. Media is everywhere. So weve learnt from it.”

The Pakistani star will feature in Shoaib Mansoor movie Verna which is due to release on November 17, this year.
