During Ramazan transmission, one of the contestants 'blamed' Jinnah for problems in Pakistan

(Web Desk) – TV host and actor Sahir Lodhi got super angry at a quiz participant during Ramazan transmission on private channel for her remarks about Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

The participant, while answering a question, ‘blamed’ Jinnah for problems in Pakistan. The remarks were taken lightly by most of the audience and attendees of the show, however, Sahir Lodhi was not impressed at all. He quickly asked the audience to stop clapping and laughing, and started lecturing everyone about the services of Jinnah for the freedom and wellbeing of the nation.

“Who gave you the permission to question the services of Jinnah?” the 49-year-old film actor asked the girl. He later started expressing how irritated he feels when people blame Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal for the current issues in the state. He argued in an angry manner, “We would have not been living so freely here (in Pakistan) if he (Jinnah) hadn’t helped us.”

His brief speech also contained a few examples from history. He mentioned how Jinnah became the founder of Daily Dawn by funding the newspaper from his own pocket, so that it can represent the Muslim discourse in Subcontinent. “Muhammad Ali Jinnah funded Dawn because Muslims had no means of print media to express their ideas,” he said while raising his voice.

Afterward, he mentioned how Quaid-e-Azam used to refrain from spending the state’s money after becoming Governor General of Pakistan after independence. “He sent those socks back saying I cannot afford to wear them being Pakistan’s Governor General”, he added. Lodhi argued that Pakistanis blame Jinnah for their own misdoings. He also talked about the possibility of having more regional power if Bangladesh remained the part of Pakistan as its east wing.
