LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Customs anti-smuggling officers launched a raid at a mobile phone company’s warehouse in Lahore and recovered expensive cell phones worth Rs 60 crore.

The devices along with their accessories were smuggled from different parts of the country.

The officers said that mobile phones were imported without getting permission from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and that this step breached income tax clauses.

Customs official Faiz Ahmed said that the mobile company wrongly used green channel as it concealed the nature of the material in the documents.

He continued that the company has not submitted original papers of the import so far.
