More than 150 shops robbed of millions during three months in Karachi

The robbers have looted cash and valuable goods worth more than Rs1.5 crore.

KARACHI (Daily Dunya) – More than 150 shops have been robbed of millions in Karachi during the last three months.

The robbers while breaking the locks of shops looted cash and valuable goods worth more than Rs1.5 crore.

Police have yet not been able to catch the robbers. The citizens are gripped in fear and anxiety due to the increasing number of street crimes and robberies.

The major robbery incident took place last month in Jami centre where atleast Rs80 lacs were looted.

The activity happened on the occasion of Ashura when the shops were sealed but the robbers broke the locks despite of the presence of heavy security in the area.

Besides this Liaquatabad, Landa Bazaar, Auto parts Market Tibet Centre, Urdu Bazaar, Jamia Cloth Market, Old City Area and other markets have also been subject to such unpleasant happenings.

Traders committee has said that five years back one or two shops were robbed but no precautionary measures were taken due to which an organized group has been formed now.
