70,000 accused in the province are still at large, there are head-moneys set at 202 accused too

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – 70,000 ‘wanted’ accused are at large in Punjab and out of these accused, 202 also have head-money on them but the police in Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s province has badly failed to put these accused behind the bars, reported Dunya News.

The old saying is that no matter how influential or clever a criminal is, he may not get away from the law. But in Punjab, there are 70,000 accused still at large.

Till October 31 of the current year, there were 172,000 wanted in Punjab but 102,889 were arrested by the police. Gujranwala region has the highest number of ‘wanted’ in Punjab with 3143 Category-A ‘wanted’ while the number of Category-A suspects in Lahore was 641. The number in Sheikhupura is 975 while that in Faisalabad region is 1400.

Although Punjab Police Inspector General is furious over these figures yet he hasn’t been able to get his police arrest these suspects at large.
