Lahore court sends rare turtle smuggling accused on 14-day judicial remand
Customs authorities had arrested the alleged culprit at Lahore airport
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Customs court has sent an accused on 14-day judicial remand for allegedly smuggling rare turtle species to Sri Lanka’s Colombo, Dunya News reported Wednesday.
The case was heard in judicial complex Lahore where court was told that the accused was attempting to smuggle as many as 22 turtles to Colombo.
Customs authorities had arrested the alleged culprit at Lahore airport. The court was told that interrogation from the accused has been completed.
However, the court sent the accused on judicial remand after hearing counter arguments of alleged criminal’s counsel.
