ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Dean Jones has praised leg-spinner Shadab Khan as ‘special talent’ and encouraged the management to give him proper opportunity as a batsman.

Talking to media on Monday, the head coach of Islamabad United told that Shadab should be given chance in batting to showcase his skill. “Shadab should bat at number 6,” he opined, recalling his half-century against Sri Lanka.

He said that foreign coaches and Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches have brought good for the local cricketers. Jones said that the PCB appointed new coaches and selectors while PSL also played a big role in improvement of Pakistani cricket.

Dean Jones admitted that green shirts’ cricket suffered loss after Australia didn’t tour Pakistan after 1998. Several teams will tour Pakistan soon, he hoped.

Islamabad United had won the first edition of PSL under the captaincy of Misbah-ul-Haq and coach Jones. It has retained several star players in the team including Andre Russell, Samuel Badree and Sam Billings. The team has appointed left-arm pacer Rumman Raees as vice captain.
