Security increased for Hyderabad T20 after terrifying rock pelting on bus carrying Aussie cricketers

(Web Desk) – Guwahati police has arrested two suspects after the terrifying rock pelting incident which scared Australian cricketers as they were heading to the hotel after winning second T20 match against India. The local authorities have also claimed to beef up the security ahead of third and last T20 match of the Australian tour which will be played in Hyderabad.

Talking about the incident, Australian leg spinner Adam Zampa told media, “I had my headphones on quite loud but (suddenly) just heard this loud bang. It was a pretty scary five seconds … you never want those things to happen. It was disappointing.”

According to details, Australian cricket team was attacked on Tuesday night while heading back to hotel after clinching victory over India in second T20. Rocks were thrown at their bus which shattered the window and spread fear among the players. The story was quickly reported after Aussie opener Aaron Finch shared photograph of the terrible incident on Twitter saying, "Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel.”

The tweet sparked outrage amongst players and fans inside and outside India as people condemned the ugly attack. Several cricketers shared the tweet while Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Indian Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore also issued condemnations.

To control the situation, Indian authorities had not only increased security but also summoned military officers for the protection of Aussie players. Soldiers from armed forces held guns as the foreign cricketers took the flight to Hyderabad on the very next day.

Several former and current Indian players have expressed their disappointment about the incident, including Ashwin Ravichandran and Rohit Sharma.
