The arch-rivals are all set to face one another in ICC Champions Trophy match on June 4

(Web Desk) – Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly made a prediction for the big opening game of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. India will beat Pakistan yet again, he told the Indian media in a recently interview.

The arch-rivals are all set to face one another in the major tournament match of International Cricket Council (ICC) on June 4.

Ganguly believes that the Indian XI led by star batsman Virat Kohli has all it takes to dismantle the struggling Pakistan team which is currently in rebuilding stage after Misbah’s retirement, Azhar Ali short stay as skipper, and the recent appointment of wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed as captain.

India has defeated Pakistan in all World Cup games with 11-0 to their scoreboard. However, in ICC Champions Trophy timeline, Pakistan is a touch better than India with 2-1 win-loss ratio.

The former Indian captain told media Pakistan has been struggling after 2005 and it is not the kind of team which it used to be, adding that they rarely perform good under-pressure. He believes India plays as a unit whenever under-pressure saying, “India has dominated in difficult situations.”

On the other hand, Pakistan’s former skipper, master class batsman and PCB Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq shed light on the significance of first match against India saying he is confidence that the players would perform well and go on to qualify for semis.

Inzi told media that Pakistan’s playing XI was a ‘nice blend of youth and experience’.
