BRIDGETOWN (Web Desk) – West Indies beat Pakistan by 106 runs in second Test. The tourists lost all ten wickets in the pursuit of chasing 188 against the home side.
Babar Azam, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Asad Shafiq and Shadab Khan all went back to the pavilion with single digit scores.
Shannon Gabriel picked five-wicket haul and gave away just 11 runs while skipper Jason Holder took three wickets. Alzarri Joseph also contributed in the bowling lineup by picking two crucial wickets.
Ahmed Shehzad scored just 17 runs before getting dismissed by WI skipper Holder. Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Amir tried to consolidate the batting with 42 runs before Amir fell to Gabriel.
The last wicket to fall was that of Sarfraz Ahmed who remained top-scorer with 23 to his name.
On the other hand, West Indies lost their last wicket in the very first over of Day-5 after ending the previous day on 264/9.
Yasir Shah gave tough time to the Windies batting lineup by picking seven wickets of 94 runs in his 39.5 overs. Young pacer Mohammad Abbas took two vital wickets of Kieran Powell and Vishaul Singh.
Shai Hope was the top-scorer in West Indies’ batting order with 90 runs. He fell short of a hundred and became the victim of Yasir Shah.
Pakistan previously got a lead of 81 runs in the first innings. Windies posted a total of 268 in second innings.
The 3-match Test series has now been leveled by one all. The third and concluding test at Roseau starts on May 10.
