IPL 2017 is set to begin tomorrow on April 5

(Web Desk) – Here for you is a list of all the cricket players who are going to miss Indian Premier League 2017 owing to injuries.

Virat Kohli

Kohli injured his shoulder against Australia in the series that concluded recently and the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore is likely to miss the first few games of the season.

AB de Villiers

The star player tweeted that he is ‘disappointed’ to be missing the opening game of the league. The South African cricketer was injured ahead of momentum cup final. He plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

De Kock and Duminy

The two players were the first ones to announce their withdrawal from the season this year. They represent Delhi Daredevils. Kock had injured his finger while playing New Zealand in Test series. Whereas Duminy has cited personal reasons for non-participation.

Murali Vijay

Representing Kings X1 Punjab in the ILP 2017, Vijay has a shoulder and wrist injury to be taken care of which is why he is reported to be missing over half of the league.

Ravi Ashwin

Rising Pune Supergiant’s off-spinner will be missing the entire season owing to recurrence of a sports hernia. He won’t be back before India;s defence of ICC Champions Trophy this year.

KL Rahul

Further squeezing already troubled-RCB after Virat’s injury, KL Rahul is to undergo a shoulder surgery in London and will miss the entire premier league this year. He sustained an injury in February in first Test against Australia.

Mitchell Marsh

Rising Pune Supergiants was confirmed last month that Marsh would not be able to play this year after he encountered a shoulder injury during Border-Gavaskar Trophy.


IPL is set to begin on Wednesday and the administration is reportedly going to hold eight different opening ceremonies in eight host cities.

In the opening match tomorrow, Royal Challengers Bangalore are to meet Sunrisers Hyderabad at 07:30pm (PST) in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
