There will be new draft for sides playing the final in Lahore, says PSL head and PCB chief executive

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Najam Sethi has on Wednesday said that there will be a new draft for the teams playing the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) final which is scheduled to be held in Lahore, reported Dunya News.

Najam Sethi had stated it prior to the start of PSL that a new draft might be held in case some of the players refused to come to Pakistan in case of their teams reaching the semi-final. In view of the terrorist attack in Lahore on Monday that took away 14 lives, there is now lesser possibility of foreign players visiting Lahore for the final.

The draft that was always on the cards has now become almost a reality and it will be held on February 22, just ahead of the final. There will be some players coming into the teams from other sides of the PSL and some of them going out as well after the draft.

“We will put a formula in front of all the franchises and foreign players to let us know who will play the final in Lahore and who will not come”, Najam Sethi has reported as saying.

Sethi added that PCB had reached some other international players as well who don’t apparently have any reservations in playing in Pakistan. He also thanked the army chief for providing unequivocal support for the tournament and offering whatever assistance required for arranging the final in Lahore.

“We have worked very hard for it. We want to use PSL as a showcase that might convince people to come to Lahore”, he said.
