Irfan does not face any immediate suspension, confirms Sethi

PCB ACU has questioned Irfan and other players, Najam Sethi said.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi on Saturday confirmed that anti-corruption unit of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has questioned left-arm pacer Muhammad Irfan in connection with his alleged involvement in spot-fixing scandal however he does not face any immediate suspension.

In a message posted on Twitter, Sethi revealed that other players including Shahzeb Hassan and Zulfiqar Babar have also been questioned but they will continue to play the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Inquiry will continue, he added.



Najam Sethi further announced that PCB’s anti-corruption unit will continue to protect Pakistan Super League (PSL) from the menace of corruption.

The statement comes a day after Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, who were Irfan’s teammates at the Islamabad United, were provisionally suspended and sent back home for investigation by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
