The national cricket board cited violation of anti-corruption law of the league for their suspension

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board has suspended contracts of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif on Friday over violation of Pakistan Super League’s anti-corruption code until completion of inquiry.

The national cricket board cited violation of anti-corruption law of the league for their suspension. The cricket authority has reported that a probe has been launched in the issue.

Both the players represent Islamabad United in Pakistan Super League and will not be participating in the second installment that begun on Thursday in Dubai.

Reportedly, the two national players would have to wait until completion of probe to know for sure if their contracts would be restored.

Commenting on the issue, former pacer Shoaib Akhtar has said that the incident is saddening. What he had feared the most regarding the super league has happened, he added.

Islamabad United played opening match of PSL 2017 against Peshawar Zalmi yesterday following a grand opening ceremony of the league.

Sources privy to the board have reported that both the players have confessed to meeting  suspicious  people post the match that Islamabad United had won.
