Najam Sethi suggests to rename Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium after Edhi

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) board of governors  member Najam Sethi on Monday has suggested to change the name of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium with Edhi Stadium.

Paying homage to the late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, Najam Sethi took to the Twitter and said that he has proposed to rename Gaddafi Stadium after Edhi.

The 68-year old member also requested PCB’s Board of Governance (BOG) to approve his idea.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif had announced to name Lahore’s key road after the great humanitarian whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that KP government will name several monuments after the name of late Abdul Sattar Edhi.

On July 8, the legendary humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi passed away in Karachi. The well-known social worker was given a guard of honour and a 19-gun salute by Pakistan Army after a state funeral.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was laid to rest at Edhi Village.
