Pakistan borrowed loans worth $19.46 bn in four years

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)- Contrary to promises of breaking begging bowl, Sharif-led federal govt had borrowed loans worth $19.66 billion during span of four years i-e June-2013 to June-2017, reported Roznama Dunya on Tuesday.

This amount was borrowed from 10 foreign financial institutions.

As per stats garnered, Pakistan borrowed $6.3 bn from International Monetary Fund for period of 13 years, $4.10 bn from Asian Development Bank for period of 20 years and $4.96 bn from International Development Association for period of 26 years.

Meanwhile, telecom sector has deposited a mammoth Rs198.74 bn in national exchequer in terms of tax whereas Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stands at $14.28 bn during aforementioned period.
