Furnace oil price reduction likely to cut power tariff
The price of imported furnace oil stands at Rs 23,784 per tonne
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Power tariff is likely to be revised as imported furnace oil price has fallen by Rs 2,223 per tonne, Dunya News reported Thursday.
The price of imported furnace oil stands at Rs 23,784 per tonne. Earlier in December the oil was imported for Rs 26,007 per tonne.
Within a span of a year imported furnace oil price dropped by Rs 7,424/tonne.
Experts have said that reduction in power tariff would on one hand provide relief to the people while on other the government would be able to save funds owing to lesser subsidies.
